Doc Samson: Update from the AIM Tournament

August 17, 2010

Provided by Crestliner Pro Staff Doc Samson of High Tech Fishing

Just got back from a great week in South Dakota fishing in the AIM tournament!

I fished with old friends and stayed at D&S Campgrounds in Akaska. The town has a lot of friendly people - even though the city sign said the population was a mere 50! My hands are full of cuts from handling so many walleyes... Lake Oahe is full of walleyes and you can see them everywhere on my Lowrance (check out the shots below).

The week was so good it felt like I was on vacation instead of working as a pro angler! Well, except for maybe the 10-hour days on the water in 95-degree heat, and the late nights preparing battle plans and getting equipment ready.

The results? My friend Jesse Buechel got first and I finished 4th. Next is the AIM Championship at Winnie in Minnesota, September 1-3....so stay tuned for the details!
