Curt's 43 year career in broadcasting brought him close to Lake of the Woods in 1979. His lifelong love of fishing took over a good part of his life the first day he saw the big lake. By the mid 90s, he was looking for a way to integrate fishing into his regular job as a broadcaster.
North Country Outdoors Radio came about as a seasonal daily radio show dedicated to fishing reports, tips and tactics for those fishing Lake of the Woods. The group of guest guides, resorters and fishing pros gave real up to the minute information. As it turns out people from all over the country are interested in the legendary Lake of the Woods. They found that out as soon as NCOR was made available on line. People from all over were commenting, entering our contests and asking questions about the show and Lake of the Woods fishing.
Curt began fishing more seriously, upgrading equipment, entering local tournaments and setting out to learn as much as possible about this huge body of water, both for himself and as fuel for the NCOR broadcasts/podcasts.
This year his wife and him are moving to life at the lake full time where Curt plans to guide, fish more tournaments and get more involved in the fishing industry. A great new adventure begins doing what he loves to do.
